Handling Personal Details

The message tool works locally. Sending an email is a separate action with separate privacy implications.

Who is responsible

Quivabubblecactus Insights Ltd is responsible for personal information processed in operating this website and handling editorial correspondence. Our registered office is 31 Park Street, Bristol BS1 5NH, United Kingdom; company number 15169372. Contact [email protected] with privacy questions.

Local drafting, copying and downloading

The contact panel uses text you enter to build a preview in the current browser page. The supplied tool does not transmit that text to us or store it in cookies or localStorage. Refreshing or leaving the page may discard the draft, although your browser may retain form values according to its own settings.

Choosing Copy places the composed text on your device’s clipboard if permission is available. Other software with clipboard access may be able to read it. Choosing Download creates a text file on your device. You control that file and any subsequent sharing. Neither action sends an email.

When you email us

If you send a message, we receive the address, name and content you choose to provide, together with ordinary email metadata. We use this information to understand, respond to and manage correspondence, investigate corrections and protect against misuse. Our usual legal basis is legitimate interests in operating an editorial information service and responding to relevant enquiries.

Please do not send medical records, identifiable athlete data or other sensitive health information. The evidence desk is not a clinical service. Where unnecessary sensitive information is received, we aim to minimise its use and remove it when it is no longer needed, subject to legal obligations.

Website delivery and service providers

Requests to deliver a website necessarily disclose technical information such as an IP address, requested resource and browser information to the hosting infrastructure. Hosting and email providers may process operational or security logs on our behalf. We use technical information as necessary to deliver the service, maintain security and investigate faults, based on legitimate interests.

The supplied pages include no advertising trackers, analytics libraries or externally embedded media. External links are not requests to those sites until followed. When you follow a link, the destination’s own privacy practices apply. Storage choices are explained on the Cookies page.

Sharing and international processing

Access to correspondence is limited to people and service providers who need it for the purposes described. We do not sell personal information or make it available to advertisers. Disclosure may be necessary to meet a legal obligation, establish or defend legal claims, or address security abuse.

If a provider processes personal information outside the United Kingdom, applicable transfer requirements must be met, such as an adequacy arrangement or appropriate contractual safeguards. You can contact us to ask about safeguards relevant to your correspondence.

Retention

We retain identifiable correspondence only as long as reasonably necessary to handle the enquiry, maintain an appropriate record of editorial corrections or meet legal requirements. Retention depends on the nature of the matter rather than an indefinite default. Operational logs are kept according to the service’s security and maintenance needs. You may ask whether information relating to you is still held.

Your rights and concerns

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law provides rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. These rights have conditions and exceptions. We may need proportionate information to confirm your identity before responding. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.

You can raise a concern with us or complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. We do not use contact drafts to make automated decisions about your health or eligibility for sport.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice when our services or processing arrangements change. Review this page before providing information if you need to understand the current approach.
